Perhaps Economy is Turning Corner

From Frank Angst, About.com GuideAugust 10, 2009

I recently was talking with a friend who specializes in horse racing advertising about an upcoming Thoroughbred sale in Saratoga Springs, New York. These sales typically serve as a barometer on how the horse racing industry is performing.

Perhaps it was wishful thinking but we both commented that we had a good feeling about the sale. Maybe we just feel like the economy may finally be turning the corner.

The overall economy certainly is important in the sports industry, which relies on people’s discretionary income. Economic numbers released this month provided some reason for optimism as some experts projected a 2.75% growth in gross domestic product for the final six months of the year.
