Seton Hall offers a variety of degree options for students who hope to move into sports careers.
Students participate in the Center for Sport Management in the Stillman School of Business and can work toward a variety of different degrees, including a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, a Master of Business Administration, a Juris Doctor/MBA, or an advanced certificate.
The undergraduate program offers a variety of study areas for students, including sports management skills such as contract negotiation, collective bargaining, sport marketing, advertising, and sponsorship strategies. Courses focus on sports industry law, economics, marketing, and finance.
The 48-credit MBA program requires 12 sports business credits in finance, management, marketing, or law.
The JD/MBA degree program works with the Seton Hall School of Law in Newark, New Jersey, in a five-year program. Thanks in part to its publishing of the Journal of Sports Law, this is one of the most popular dual degrees offered at Seton Hall.

With New York City just 14 miles away, Seton Hall takes advantage of its location in South Orange, New Jersey, to attract faculty with sports career experience.
For instance, one faculty member is an Emmy Award-winning sports broadcaster and former CBS executive and another is a 13-year veteran of the National Football League who launched a sports apparel business after his retirement.
Also, the prime location allows students to pursue top internship opportunities with teams, leagues, and sports facilities. The school said students have landed internships at the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority, ESPN and other networks, Madison Square Garden, major and minor league franchises, league offices like the NFL, and sports marketing companies.
Through the efforts of the Sport Management Student Association, students secure extra experience and add connections. Initiated in 1999, the group is run by students with supervision from a sport management faculty member. The group has organized trips to the NFL Draft, Madison Square Garden, and various sports halls of fame.
Seton Hall’s Center for Sport Management boasts an impressive alumni list that includes executives with the New York Yankees, the National Basketball League, a NASCAR team, and many other prominent teams and leagues.
