At the University of Central Florida DeVos Sport Business Management program, students not only learn how to succeed in sport business careers, they also study a unique set of classes that emphasize the social importance of sports.
Recently recognized as one of the top five sports management programs by the Wall Street Journal, SportsBusiness Journal, and ESPN Magazine, the DeVos Sport Business Management program gives students an opportunity to earn their masters degree in Sports Business Management and in Business Administration.
In 2009, a team of DeVos students competed at the prestigious National Sports Forum against three of the other five top teams in the country and returned with a first place finish. Only one other team had a woman as part of their group. The DeVos team had three out of four women.
In its study of sports and social impact, the school is affiliated with the Institute for Diversity and Ethics in Sport and the National Consortium for Academics and Sports.

Masters Degree Program
Devos offers students an opportunity to earn a masters degree in sport business management. Founded in 2002, the program concentrates on staying on the cutting edge of sports business, in what can be a rapidly changing sports atmosphere.
A unique part of the program takes a page from sports in that students work as teams throughout their two years in school.
Each student also has an individual mentor, a professional with masters degree credentials who currently works in a sports career.
Curriculum
The curriculum incorporates the University of Central Floridas College of Business Administration core classes with specific sport business classes. Combining coursework with internships and interactive projects allows students to work with sport business leaders. The program offers a superior education and network of contacts as students begin their professional careers.
Institute for Diversity and Ethics in Sport
The school is affiliated with the Institute for Diversity and Ethics in Sport, a resource for issues related to gender and race in amateur, collegiate, and professional sports. Through surveys and study, the institute regularly tracks trends related to these issues.
Known as TIDES, the institute also monitors some of the critical ethical issues in collegiate and professional sport, including potential exploitation of student-athletes, gambling, performance-enhancing drugs, and violence in sport.
National Consortium for Academics and Sports
Devos also is affiliated with the National Consortium for Academics and Sports, a growing network of more than 220 colleges and universities created to emphasize the success of college athletes in the classroom.
